Beauty Standards

Beauty standards were placed and created by men to segregate humanity, encourage lookism, and push for women to conform to male desire. Since childhood, the feminine beauty ideal is shoved down girls’ throats partially through toys involving makeup, fashion, and dolls manufactured to look ‘beautiful’ according to the male gaze. Fairytales, teen movies, books, are also written to subconsciously teach women to be seen as physically attractive by men. These thoughts are usually permanently embedded in womens’ mind’s until death.
